A Little About Me
I’m Sam, the driving force behind Alertitude. My passion for Health & Safety extends beyond compliance; it’s fundamentally about people. Good Health & Safety isn’t just about following rules and completing paperwork—it’s about understanding what people need to feel safe and supported in their work environments, so they can truly thrive.
I specialise in self-regulation and psychological safety. I firmly believe that the way we shape our environments, communicate, and build relationships significantly impacts how people respond, perform, and feel at work. When employees feel secure in voicing their thoughts or concerns without fear of judgment, we foster stronger, healthier workplaces.

Outside my professional pursuits, I am equally committed to making a difference. I actively volunteer with ALONE’s Befriending Program, supporting older people through regular companionship and connection. It’s a fulfilling endeavour, as I’ve witnessed firsthand that simply being present and listening can have a profound impact.
When I’m not working or volunteering, I focus on what truly matters. I prioritise quality time with my dog, Henry, enjoy exploring varied cuisines (especially Asian food!), and create lasting memories with my daughter. Whether it’s an exciting adventure, a relaxing day out, a holiday, or those mundane moments that become cherished memories, these experiences are essential to life.

I’m also a spiritual person and firmly believe that life brings the right experiences and people at the right time. I live by the mantra: “What is meant for you won’t pass you by.” This reminds me to embrace opportunities and navigate life’s unexpected challenges with confidence.
This philosophy has been instrumental in shaping Alertitude. I set out to create an approach to Health & Safety that is rooted in experience, honesty, and practical thinking, always with people at its core. And, most importantly, people at the heart of it.
